Athlete Support Programme

This programme is funded by through Borders Sport and Leisure Trust. The programme aims to provide support services and professional development for athletes and coaches which will assist them to reach their maximum potential with the ultimate aim of their participation in the London Olympic Games, Paralympic Games in 2012, Commonwealth Games in 2014 or beyond.

2010 Annual Report

The Athlete Support programme was established in October 2007 by Scottish Borders Council. Since then the Council (and now BSLT) and other partners have continued to support this innovative initiative and we now have a number of athletes who have represented their country at Scottish and UK level.

Entry Criteria for the Borders target sports are available here

Priority is given to the Borders target sports or sports/disciplines which are involved in the Commonwealth, Olympic or Paralympic Games
