This programme is funded principally by grant through Borders Sport and Leisure Trust. The programme aims to provide support services and professional development for athletes and coaches which will assist them to reach their maximum potential with the ultimate aim of their participation in the London Olympic Games, Paralympic Games in 2012, Commonwealth Games in 2014 or beyond.

The Athlete Support Programme was established in October 2007 by Scottish Borders Council. Since then the Council (now through BSLT) and other partners have continued to support this initiative and we have had a number of ASP athletes progress to represent their country at Scottish and GB level.
