 Active Gala

Primary Coordinator
Graeme Murdoch

Secondary Coordinator
Linda Rome

With eleven primary schools (Balmoral, Burgh, Caddonfoot, Glendinning, Fountainhall, Heriot, St Peters, Stow, St Margarets, Langlee, and Tweedbank) feeding into Galashiels Academy, Graeme Murdoch and Linda Rome are working to create opportunities for young people (5-18yrs) to participate in a wide variety of sport and physical activity opportunities. In some instances, it is about creating brand new opportunities, whilst in others, it is about providing improved links to existing community clubs and classes. We are especially keen to provide senior pupils with the skills and training to allow them to work in the cluster to motivate young people, particularly in hard to reach groups such as inactive children and girls groups.
