The new Asda Volunteer of the Month Award will award a monthly prize to the volunteer who has shown a commitment to developing the sport for the good of their local community.
The Awards panel are seeking nominations from not only Clubs, but Development Groups, Schools, and from within the local Community.
The first award will be for April and the programme will award monthly prizes through to the end of September. Each monthly winner will be presented with £100 of Asda vouchers by their local Asda store manager, a certificate, as well as a visit from a National Squad player.
Fiona Campbell-Reilly, Head of Asda in the Community said, "We are delighted to support such a great initiative which brings young people and volunteers together throughout Scotland and are looking forward to building this partnership with Cricket Scotland. Cricket can play a major role in bringing communities together and Asda are always looking for ways to make a real difference. I am looking forward to a successful summer."
Steve Paige, Head of Community Development at Cricket Scotland commented’ “I’m delighted with this partnership and it enables us to continue to reward those people who volunteer in our sport. Volunteers are key to the continued success of our sport and through this partnership with Asda we hope that we can begin to reward them for the time and effort they commit”.
