Asda Volunteer of the Month award

Following success from last year, Cricket Scotland have teamed up with Asda again in 2011 in their initiative to reward those volunteers who devote their free time to development of cricket in their local communities.

The Asda Volunteer of the Month will be awarded each month starting in April all the way through to September. Winners will be presented with certificates and £100 worth of Asda store vouchers by their local Asda store community colleagues and will also receive a visit from a national squad player.

The awards panel is seeking nominations from clubs, development groups, schools and others from local communities across Scotland with the volunteers that deserve to be recognized and rewarded for their day-to-day commitment to development of this sport in Scotland.
Steve Paige, Head of Community Development at Cricket Scotland, commented: ‘I’m delighted that Asda are continuing to reward the valued cricket volunteers in Scotland.  I think it’s important that we recognise and reward volunteers who provide so much to our sport and through Asda’s support we can do this.’
Fiona Campbell-Reilly, Head of Asda in the Community: ‘We are delighted to support such a great initiative. It brings young people and volunteers together throughout Scotland and we are looking forward to building this partnership with Cricket Scotland.’
