Facilities and Resources
Whiteadder Sailing Centre 
Whiteadder sailing centre is open from May to October every year and offers sailing tuition to the general public and to schools and community based groups. It is a Royal Yachting Association training centre with two instructors based seasonally at this site.
A fleet of thirty boats is available at the centre, which is also a good base for canoeing, mountain biking and various team building activities are available also.
The centre principal coordinates access to the reservoir for recreation on behalf of Scottish Water.

Whiteadder Reservoir Fishery
Whiteadder reservoir fishery is a wild brown trout fishery offering both bank and boat fishing. Tickets are available on site and boat reservations can be arranged in advance. The season runs from April until the end of September.

St Marys Loch Sailing Base
The OE section operates within the grounds of St Mary’s Loch Sailing Club under a partnership agreement. A fleet of 16 boats is provided at the centre and a new boatshed was built at the club in 2009 to house boats and equipment. Sailing is offered to schools at this facility, instructors being brought in from a pool of staff as and when required.
Bookings are arranged through the PT outdoor education at HQ.
Jedburgh Ski Slope
This is a small artificial ski slope (dendix) with a trainer tow sited in the grounds of Jedburgh Grammar School.
Bookings for school and community groups can be arranged through the PT outdoor education at HQ.
Community ski classes are available at the slope in evenings throughout the winter, and the slope is used weekly by Borders Ski Club who also provide tuition for their members.
Jedburgh Climbing Tower

This is a small outdoor climbing tower in the grounds of Jedburgh Grammar School suitable for introductory climbing and abseiling sessions.
Bookings can be made through the PT outdoor education at HQ.
Abbey Row Canoeing and Biking Base
Abbey Row outdoor education base in Kelso is situated to the rear of Abbey Row community centre. This facility comprises of a general workshop area, a base for mountain biking and a base for canoeing and kayaking. Male and female changing areas and showers are provided along with a wide range of biking and canoeing equipment.
Canoe and bike trailers are provided which means that these activities can be provided across most of Borders region from this central facility. There are also a small number of outlying stores for boats and bikes across the region, including a small store at Glentress biking centre.
Mapping resources
Primary schools and their grounds and many local areas of forest and parkland have been mapped recently using OCAD software to produce high quality maps suitable for mapwork and orienteering. The PT outdoor education can be contacted at HQ to access these and other mapping resources.

Adventure Activities Licensing Services
AALS is a part of the Health and Safety Executive with a responsibility for adventurous activities, and manages a licensing scheme for providers of in scope activities. Scottish Borders Council is a licence holder.
