Welcome to the Outdoor Education Section
What is outdoor learning?
Outdoor learning can be any learning which takes place out of doors, ranging from a nursery group going outdoors on a summers day to look at flowers and insects in a garden to a group of young people planning and carrying out a demanding expedition in challenging terrain which demands high levels of planning, skill, determination and physical effort to see the project through.
Outdoor learning is central to the delivery of curriculum for excellence and all young people should have regular, well designed and appropriate opportunities to learn in the outdoors at all stages of their education.
